MAJOR SINGLE OWNER AUTOMOBILIA COLLECTION

Location: Brantford
Date: April 30 – May 18, 2023
April 30 – May 18, 2023 From the estate of a long time collector of early and mid-twentieth century automobilia and petroliana, with select additions.  Including a1940's Chevrolet spinner steering wheel, 1979 Corvette Stingray, early fender lights, hood ornaments, early pedal car, Cadillac tail/signal light, advertising, oil cans, large selection of windshield solvent bottles, vintage headlights, dash clocks, tin table top product displays, advertising thermometers, street signs, automobile related ephemera, antique showcases, vintage industrial fans, MCM TV, radios, telephones, vacuum tubes, with many more interesting and collectible items.

It is always exciting to be able to share with others the results of a lifetime of passionate collecting of very specific items. This collection is one such example. A lifetime of Saturdays spent at antique stores, garage sales and flea markets. Interminable auction evenings waiting for that one longed for item, and a reputation developed amongst other collectors as an expert in his field. All combine to make a perfectly curated collection of antique and vintage automobilia.

Is there anything more evocative of mid-century America than the car?  To walk into the room that housed this collection was like walking into a neighbourhood garage straight out of the fifties. Walls lined with early oil cans and bottles of windshield wash, many with their original contents.  Licence plates from the 20’s and 30’s. Advertising, clocks and hood ornaments. And in a nod to another mid-century obsession, magnetic pipe holders for your dash, branded ashtrays and lighters.

There truly is “something for everyone”, and even if your interests don’t run to car memorabilia, it is hard not to be fascinated by some of the more unusual items – a porcelain razor blade holder in the shape of a frog, anyone? To round out the collection, be sure to watch for the fabulous collection of antique showcases that housed his collection.

Happy Bidding!
